Teaching literacy and numeracy through physical activity


Term 1 PDHPE Network session "Teaching literacy and numeracy through physical activity" was held 16th March 2022.

Research tells us that moving while learning is the best way to retain that learning. This session provides great practical ideas about how to teach literacy and numeracy concepts while also getting your students active.

With thanks to South Eastern Sydney LHD who hosted this event and guest presenter experienced education consultant Janice Atkin for such an engaging session.

Term 1 PDHPE Network session "Be Well, Teach Well" was held 3rd March 2021. 


Being a teacher is a challenging role at the best of times; 2020 has taken the challenge to a new level! In 2021 we encourage you to take some time to consider your own well-being.

If you missed the opportunity to hear from well-being expert Dr Darren Morton BEd (Hons), MAppSc, PHD, FASLM., access the webinar recording here.

In this webinar, Darren presented evidence-based ways to lift your mood and your life. Darren explored well-being enhancing strategies, from Neuroscience, Lifestyle Medicine and Positive Psychology research.

Setting up a Sustainable School Garden


Term 2 PDHPE Network session "Setting up a Sustainable School Garden" was held Tues 1st June 2021.

Term 3 PDHPE Network session "Traditional Indigenous Games" was held Weds 18th August 2021.

(Sport Australia acknowledges Ken Edwards for the extensive and thorough research undertaken to collate the Yulunga: Traditional Indigenous Games. To create this resource, Ken Edwards with the assistance of Troy Meston reviewed almost every available account of Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander games from all parts of Australia.)
