Allied Health professionals are involved with the delivery of health or related services pertaining to the identification, evaluation and prevention of diseases and disorders, dietary and nutrition services, rehabilitation and health systems management. Allied health professionals provide essential care for people of all ages including children, older people, people with chronic illnesses or mental ill-health, and those experiencing disability.

Allied health professionals:

  • Identify and assess issues and provide treatment to support acquisition of skills, recovery and re-ablement
  • Utilise specialised expertise in preventing, diagnosing and treating a range of conditions and illnesses
  • Work within a multidisciplinary health team to provide specialised support for different patient needs
  • Provide interventions that can reduce or remove the need for medical interventions
