Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) Health Management Graduate Program (HMGP)

About the Program

The WSLHD HMGP is designed to develop skilled and capable health leaders and managers for the future. Interns in the HMGP undertake a two-year program made up of two main components:

  1. Workplace Component
    Trainees in the WSLHD HMGP work full-time for WSLHD, undertaking placements of 3-6 months duration with senior and executive supervisors in a variety of areas. Such areas include the Executive Unit, Hospital Operations, Human Resources and Finance. Placements will provide trainees with a range of professional development opportunities, including training, attendance at conferences and events, mentoring and a designed support framework to prepare them for a successful career.
  2. Academic Component
    Included in the HMGP is the combined academic component, with trainees undertaking either a Master of Health Service Management (supported by operational management work and placements or; finance specific work placements) or Master of Health Information Management with the University of Tasmania.
