Welcome to the Auslan resources section of our website,
Auslan is the language of the deaf community. Sign languages use
manual communication and gestures instead of sound to express the
speaker’s thoughts and meaning. This involves a combination of hand
shapes, facial expressions and the orientation and movement of hands,
arms or body. Auslan is a distinct visual language.
This page contains health resources to support your conversations
with your doctor, midwife or nurse. We have provided health information
in Auslan. As part of our commitment to the people of WSLHD we will
continue to develop Auslan health information to support your health
care with us.
