Rehabilitation Medicine

The Westmead Hospital Department of Rehabilitation Medicine provides comprehensive rehabilitation services to inpatients and outpatients of Westmead Hospital with disabling conditions.

Clinical units within the Department include:

• Amputee & Prosthetic Service
• Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service (BIRS) 
• Developmental Disability
• Physical Disabilities Clinic
• Spasticity Clinic
• General Rehabilitation
• SMART Rehabilitation 
• Spina Bifida
• Orthotics

The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine employs a number of Staff Specialists, Registrars, RMOs and clinical nurse specialists who take responsibility for coordinating the rehabilitation care for the above units.
