It’s a good idea to prepare for the heat before it arrives. You can prepare yourself and your home or apartment. Remember to have a chat with a neighbour or relative, or close friend about keeping in contact during a heatwave in case you or they need any help.
There are a few things you can do to prepare you and your home before a heatwave comes.

On very hot days
During extreme heat, it’s easy to become hot and feel thirsty. Sometimes we can become too hot which can lead to serious illness. Heat-related illness can feel like you are dizzy, thirsty, feel very tired and your urine can look bright yellow or dark yellow. If you have medical conditions like heart disease, diabetes or kidney disease, heat can make things worse.
