Business comes to Blacktown

Blacktown and Mount Druitt hospitals general manager Sue-Anne Redmond highlighted the booming opportunities provided by WSLHD to more than 70 business leaders at recent a Business After 5 event.

Partnerships in employment, training, education, voluntary work and increased social capital were among the areas highlighted.

The Business After 5 function was hosted by Blacktown Hospital, and provided an opportunity to build relationships with the Blacktown business community and highlight the positive impact the hospital expansion continues to have on local economic growth.

Guest speaker Western Sydney University Vice Chancellor Dr Andy Marks advocated for creative disruption and innovation and acknowledged the dedication of the current 256 medical students in our hospital.

Chamber president Trevor Oldfield said the group was looking forward to forging closer ties with the health and education communities.
