Maternity Ward staff from Blacktown Hospital thanked the Chohan and Mansoor family for their donation of a “Doppler” as a token of their appreciation for the care given to the birth of their son and granddaughter.
Blacktown Hospital's Women's and Children's Youth Health Acting Midwifery Nurse Manager Michelle Simmons said the equipment was used to monitor babies’ heart rates while they were in the womb.
"The doppler is used between eight to10 times every time the mum-to-be visits the hospital for tests,” she said.
"We deliver approximately 3200 births at Blacktown Hospital so that's a lot of heart beats.”
