Have your say on the stage 2 redevelopment of Blacktown Hospital

05 Nov 2015

Community members are encouraged to view the concept proposal for Stage 2 of the Blacktown Mount Druitt Hospital redevelopment, which will be on public exhibition for a month.

The centre piece of the $400 million Stage 2 redevelopment is the new, multi-storey Acute Services Building at Blacktown Hospital, which will include a new emergency department, operating theatres, an intensive care unit, birthing services and a specialty care nursery.

Stage 2 will complement the $312 million Stage 1 project, which is nearing completion and expected to open early next year.

The centre piece of Stage 1 is a seven-storey Clinical Services Building at Blacktown Hospital, which includes comprehensive care centres for cancer, cardiac, respiratory medicine and aged care and a new, in-centre renal dialysis unit.

The Stage 1 Blacktown Hospital project, which is almost finished, was the single largest hospital redevelopment undertaken by the NSW Government in our first term - and Stage 2 will be one of the largest projects in our second term.
