02 May 2014

A new website by NSW Health’s Agency of Clinical Innovation (ACI) Pain Management Network featuring videos of pain specialists is helping patients find new ways of coping with the pain that won’t go away.

The website was developed by the ACI in partnership with consumers, General Practitioners, Chronic Pain Australia and Medicare Locals.

The content on the website incorporates the latest scientific knowledge on how to manage chronic pain. It features tutorials that teach patients how exercise, diet, relaxation, imagery, mindfulness and positive thinking can help manage pain. It also features inspirational videos of other patients talking about their own experiences of pain.

Other features include:

  • Interactive learning and self-management modules
  • Practical tools and resources to help people with chronic pain improve their lifestyle
  • A health professional toolkit that includes assessment and management tools for doctors and healthcare professionals
