New GMs for Westmead Hospital, Blacktown Mount Druitt Health

Western Sydney Local Health District (WLSHD) is pleased to announce Andrew Newton as the new general manager of Westmead Hospital and Sue-Anne Redmond as general manager Blacktown Mount Druitt Health (BMDH).
This dynamic pair will start in their new roles on Monday December 15 2014.
WSLHD chief executive Danny O’Connor, said Andrew and Sue-Anne have a wealth of experience in successfully managing the delivery of healthcare throughout NSW in operational management and capital development projects.
"Andrew’s many achievements as general manager of Blacktown Mount Druitt Health see him uniquely positioned for his new role at Westmead," he said.
"He has been central in the Blacktown Mount Druitt Hospital expansion project; positioning Blacktown as one of the key sites for e-health innovation; and in the roll-out of major initiatives including Paper-Lite which saw Blacktown as the first facility in NSW to move to an almost paperless patient record system.
"Sue-Anne brings with her a wealth of experience from the public and private healthcare systems, is currently general manager at Calare Aged Care; and previously held the position of director, Clinical Governance at WSLHD.
"We are pleased to welcome Andrew and Sue-Anne to their new positions in our WSLHD family and I am confident they will continue to make significant contributions as we continue to strive for outstanding quality patient care," Mr O’Connor said.
Westmead Hospital is a specialist tertiary referral hospital for the western metropolitan area of Sydney, serving more than 900,000 residents in 120 suburbs.
It is a major teaching hospital of The University of Sydney for medical and dental students, and one of Australia’s largest centres for postgraduate training to specialist level.
At Blacktown Mount Druitt Health, tertiary care facilities are renowned for excellence in patient care; training of healthcare professionals; research and innovation.
