Bringing awareness to White Ribbon Day

10 Dec 2014

White Ribbon Australia aims to create a society in which all women can live in safety, free from violence and abuse.

To show our support, and raise awareness to stop men’s violence against women, we decorated three Community Health Centres (The Hills, Blacktown and Mount Druitt) in White Ribbons and created White Ribbon displays.

Our displays encouraged people to talk to us about White Ribbon Day, and stimulated discussion within the waiting rooms about individual and collective attitudes regarding violence. It also inspired people to proudly wear their White Ribbon to demonstrate their opposition to violence against women.

November 25th has been declared as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
