Our Services
Mental Health Services
Western Sydney Local Health District Mental Health Services support people across the lifespan with a range of mental illnesses and disorders. We provide specialist services relating to prevention through to early detection, early intervention, triage, assessment, acute and sub-acute care, and various levels of treatment and ongoing support in the community.
All treatment is recovery orientated working in partnership with the consumer and carer.
Inpatient Services
Inpatient services include:
- Acute Adult
- Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)
- Specialist Mental Health Services for Older People (SMHSOP)
- Non-Acute Rehabilitation
- Short Stay Units
- Forensic Rehabilitation
Our inpatient units are based at Westmead, Cumberland, Mount Druitt and Blacktown Hospitals.
Community Mental Health Teams
Community Mental Health Teams are based at Parramatta, Merrylands, Auburn, Dundas, the Hills and Blacktown.
Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and (Specialist Mental Health Services for Older People) SMHSOP teams also work in the community.
CAMHS is available in the Headspace Centres in Parramatta and Mt Druitt. Headspace Centres help young people deal with mental health problems and to complete education, seek work and socialise appropriately.
SMHSOP is available based in Merrylands and Blacktown. SMHSOP provides a range of acute and community based mental health services for people aged 65+ years, including community based and in-patient clinical services, rehabilitation and recovery services, and mental health promotion.
