Interlibrary loans, document delivery & purchase requests

Westmead Hospital Library can assist you by obtaining copies of journal articles and book chapters as well as loans of books when they are not accessible here through Library resources. The majority of requests can be supplied free of charge.
If not available through our network a minimum fee of $16.50 will be charged per article. You will be contacted for approval prior to the request being sent if payment is required.

Requesting an article

If you have found a journal article using CIAP search or Ovid (e.g. Medline, Joanna Briggs Institute, Embase) 

1. Click on the Request the Article link located to the right of the result. 
2. Fill in your details ensuring you select Westmead Hospital 
3. Click Order.

Alternatively fill in the Interlibrary loan and document delivery form. Please ensure you fill in one form per request.

Purchasing items for the library or a department

To request an item be purchased for the library or your department fill in the Item Purchase form. All requests for Library items will be assessed and approved only if the purchase is in line with the Library’s Collection Development Policy and there are sufficient funds available. 
All requests for department items require approval from the head of your department and the cost will be charged back to your cost centre.
