Diabetes Clinics
The Westmead Hospital diabetes clinics provide specialist medical care for people with diabetes. In particular, the focus is on optimising diabetes care, and screening for, and treating complications of diabetes. Doctors in the clinic work closely with diabetes educators, dieticians, and podiatrists. We aim to maintain a close liaison with patients' general practitioners.
In general, it is advisable for new patients to attend the Diabetes & Endocrinology Ambulatory Care Centre to see a Diabetes Educator and Dietitian before attending one of the specialist diabetes clinics.
