Hospital Community Councils

Community Councils have been established to support each hospital in WSLHD.
They are groups of WSLHD staff and community leaders who meet monthly to identity needs in their local communities and networks to improve their community’s wellbeing.
Their purpose is to contribute to improvements in the health and wellbeing of local communities through:
- building health literacy
- facilitating community partnerships
- building community networks to identify access points (relationships) for health and other services
- to disseminate information between sectors to improve the health and wellbeing of the community.
The aim of these Hospital Community Councils is to open up pathways for communication into and back from the local communities served by our hospitals.
