About Blacktown & Mount Druitt hospitals

Blacktown Hospital provides a 24-hour emergency service, intensive care unit, sub-specialty acute medical and surgical care, obstetrics and newborn care, and mental health services.

Mount Druitt Hospital offers 24-hour emergency care, elective surgical services, inpatient paediatrics and subacute services including rehabilitation and palliative care.

Blacktown & Mount Druitt Hospitals (BMDH) have a close working relationship with Western Sydney University with a Clinical School located at Blacktown Hospital to develop medical students to work as fully accredited doctors and specialists.

Blacktown and Mount Druitt hospitals have recently undergone a multimillion dollar redevelopment to meet the growing needs of the community. The multi-award-winning Blacktown & Mount Druitt Hospitals Expansion Project is changing the way we care for our community. It includes a major development of existing and new services to meet increasing demand and reduce the need to travel out of the area for treatment.

The Better Foundation has been established to maximise local corporate and community relationships and to undertake fundraising and increase awareness for the continued development of health promotion, education, research and medical equipment. Funds enabled the purchase of medical devices and the establishment of support programs to assist our patients.
