Integrated Violence Prevention & Response Services (IVPRS) We have a dedicated team that provides counselling and other support services for First nations people impacted by abuse, neglect, sexual assault and domestic violence. IVPRS incorporates two clinical services - Sexual Assault Services (SAS) and Child Protection Services (CPS). SAS provides crisis and ongoing counselling to victims of sexual assault & their non-offending caregivers/family members. CPS provides therapeutic, counselling and casework services to children, young people and their families when physical abuse, emotional abuse, neglect or exposure to domestic violence has occurred within the family. The IVPRS team at Aboriginal Health Services, WSLHD Our dedicated Aboriginal Health Worker for Violence, Abuse and Neglect helps Aboriginal people who have experienced sexual assault, violence abuse and neglect, navigate through the correct systems within health and external to health. We also provide education and support to the local communities across the district to improve awareness around such topics. The Aboriginal Social Worker/Aboriginal Counsellor provide therapeutic services to children and young people aged 10-17 years of age who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviours towards others. The Senior Aboriginal Clinician (Safe Ways Program) works with children under the age of 10 who have harmful sexual behaviours. We lead and support an inter-agency public health approach to children with Problematic & Harmful Sexualised Behaviours (PHSB), including primary prevention initiatives, early intervention responses and the provision of specialist clinical services for children who need them. The Aboriginal Sexual Assualt Counsellor provides counselling to Aboriginal people who have been victims of Child sexual assault or sexual assault.
