Birthing your baby is an important and exciting life event. Every birth is unique and each woman and family has individual needs and expectations.

Whether you have a vaginal delivery or a Caesarean birth, you can be informed, make the best decisions for yourself and your baby, plus have the right people around you to provide positive support. At Westmead Hospital, we understand that you will wish to be well prepared for this life-changing experience.

Preparation for Labour and Birth

As your baby’s due date becomes closer you will want to start preparing for the birth, including completing your birth plan if you want to prepare one, and packing your bag ready to take with you to hospital.
