	The EMRU was set up in 2008 to promote and oversee research at Westmead Emergency. All trainees at Westmead Emergency are required to follow the process for conducting research within this department, in conjuction with their chosen supervisor and the EMRU. A number of current research projects include the national snake bite epidemiology studyParacetamol study, Serotonin Toxicity & NMS, Comparison of NAC protocols, and QT intervals in opiate overdose.
