Healthy Eating Active Living

inline-image_kids-jumping.jpg
Health should be easy and we want to make healthy eating and active living not an impossible choice.

With one in two adults and one in four children in NSW overweight or obese, we see that being healthy is becoming a harder choice. Being overweight and obese increases your risk of developing chronic diseases like heart disease, type 2 diabetes and some cancers. We want to beat these preventable chronic diseases together and make it effortless to live well.

We take a broad approach to healthy eating and active living

Healthy eating looks at reducing the intake of high energy nutrient poor food and drinks, increasing the amount of fruit and vegetables eaten and swapping sugar-sweetened drinks for tap water.

Active living looks at increasing the amount of time spent being physically active and reducing the time spent being inactive, with a particular focus on appropriate screen use in children.

We hope to encourage healthy eating and active living changes in our community by offering free support programs and ensuring the environment we live in encourages these changes. Taking small steps together we can change our thinking about how to live well.
