Member for Riverstone Kevin Connolly popped into Blacktown Hospital on February 2 to welcome 52 new medical interns, who kicked off their careers at the hospital this week.
Mr Connolly was greeted by Blacktown Hospital general manager Sue-Anne Redmond, who also took some time out to chat with the new interns, who will work in the hospital, along with stints at Mount Druitt and Bathurst hospitals during their one-year internship.
The 52 interns are part of the 141-strong cohort who launched their medical careers in Western Sydney Local Health District in 2017.
Many of the interns are from western Sydney, while some have travelled from interstate and overseas to work in the LHD.
