Better quality Silect logo
The Simulated Learning Environment for Clinical Training (SiLECT) at Westmead is an educational space consisting of two large simulation rooms with capacity to expand into a third and two tutorial/debriefing rooms. The SiLECT teaching team consists of a core faculty of senior Nurse Educators, Clinical Nurse Consultants and Registrar and Consultant Anaesthetic and Emergency physicians all committed to increasing patient safety and evidence based care.
SiLECT is committed to delivering high quality simulation based education for all levels of healthcare professionals and undergraduates, targeting both clinical and team training. Sessions are developed and delivered for a variety of purposes from knowledge gap analysis, mandatory training, adverse patient outcomes, root cause analysis recommendation and systems testing. The Training is delivered using a variety of high/medium fidelity manikins, standardised patients and part task trainers. The training is delivered in both the SiLECT simulation space and in-situ in the clinical environment in response to the learning outcomes.
