Centre for Diabetes & Endocrinology Research, Westmead (CeDER-W)

The Centre for Diabetes & Endocrinology Research, Westmead is the research arm of the Department of Diabetes & Endocrinology. It performs epidemiological, health services, clinical, physiological and basic science research.

Our Clinical Trials Unit has concentrated on trials of new treatments for Diabetes, Obesity, and Pituitary Disorders. Some of these trials are initiated by Westmead clinicians, some by multi-centre or international study teams, and some by pharmaceutical companies. These studies enable us to evaluate state-of-the-art treatment methods.

All research at Westmead Hospital is scrutinised by the Research Ethics and Safety Committee.
